This really is an excellent guide for parents that simply and clearly informs them about all the data that is being stored on their children and what they can do about it. It is concise and easy to read and I found it extremely helpful and will be passing it on to all my parents on my blog and in Positive Parents Club site.

Having read through this guide, which in certain areas gives very useful information, I believe that it needs to be updated on certain points. Contactpoint was one of the first casualties of the new government and subsequently all data contained within its database has been erased (Or so we are lead to believe)! Secondly, the SCR is very strictly controlled through Role Based Access Control, and the data uploaded is certainly not available to everyone in the NHS, so this needs to be corrected. Public data on the Summary Care Record can be found at http://www.nhscarerecords.nhs.uk/
