I find that a tad strange. I've lived in Moscow for years and I've seen very few CCTV cameras on the streets - well compared with England anyway. Russia does have a ID card system but it's in the form of an internal-passport and it's not computer readable. Yes, the police do stop people but they are usually foreigners i.e. dark skinned people from the former SU. Things ain't as bad as you think here. If ID cards were ever introduced in Moscow it'd only be a matter of time before you could get hold of one on the black market. Money talks here :-) Britain is only second to China & RUSSIA.

In the meantime, you can get a DVD screener (to keep) by arranging a screening here: http://goodscreenings.org/films/5/info/ If you get 10 people along and they chip in, you'll be ahead on the deal!
