Erasing David is playing in selected cinemas from the 29th April. The 29th April was the big premiere evening – after the film there was a live Q&A from the Brixton Ritzy that was beamed to the other screens. Taking part in the debate were David Davis, Shami Chakrabarti, Henry Porter, Will Self and David Bond, the director. This will be available online to view soon. Venues still screening the film are:

Hi,
I live in the east midlands and there doesn’t seem to be anywhere near me. There is an independant cinema in leics and in Nottingham, the broadway, maybe we could have a screening. Unfortunately I cannot get digital channels so won’t be able to see it on the more four screening.
Comment by Lua — April 21, 2010 @ 11:35 am
Sorry that it will be difficult for you to see it Lua. You could always arrange a screening for yourself and friends from http://goodscreenings.org/films/5/info/ but I’ll keep you in touch about DVD and other releases, if you don’t mind. You can always sign up to get more info at http://www.erasingdavid.com (keep in touch). Needless to say, we will never share your data with anyone else….

Try the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal. They screened “Taking Liberties” and the town has a long and distinguished history of whiggish stroppiness.

Great idea – we will. Thanks Stephen.

I see there’s no planned screenings anywhere near Manchester either…
Comment by Phil — April 26, 2010 @ 5:51 pm
sorry – we’re doing our best to get Manchester screenings sorted – please bear with us. In the mean time you can arrange a screening at http://www.goodscreenings.org.

I don’t suppose there’s a chance of getting this on in Yorkshire?
Ideally at the Hyde Park Arthouse cinema in Leeds.
After listening to the Radio 4 podcast, I’d like to go and see the film. Unfortunately, I’m already busy on the 29th, is there likely to be another screening?
Comment by Rob Speed — April 27, 2010 @ 4:52 pm
I say Yorkshire – I really meant Leeds.
Comment by Rob Speed — April 27, 2010 @ 4:53 pm
We’re trying – please ask your local cinema – say you want it screened – or you can arrange a screening yourself (at home / wherever) at http://www.goodscreenings.org Thanks.

If you don’t get digital TV you can always watch it on the Internet?
I can’t find anywhere other than Dundee in Scotland, but there is a small cinema at Stirling Uni that might be interested in showing your film. The MacRoberts Centre.
Many Blessings for a much needed film. Have posted it on FaceBook so hope it will get the word out.

Any plans for a US release? If not, please post when the DVD will be available.
Comment by Consignment Pal Resale Directory — May 3, 2010 @ 5:09 pm
David, perhaps you can get in touch with the Warwick Arts Centre in the Midlands. Might be a good venue to show such a film given the campus audience (as well as the large audience in the surrounding area that the Centre serves).

When can I catch Erasing David in Edinburgh. Heard it would be at the Cameo, but can’t find it listed. Thanks Anne
Comment by Anne Simpson — May 5, 2010 @ 12:47 pm
It’s over in the cinemas but should still be on 4OD for a while then we’ll do a DVD.
Comment by David Bond — May 7, 2010 @ 3:24 pm
Do you have a release date for a UK dvd as it is going off 4OD shortly?
Comment by Clair Polkey — May 27, 2010 @ 1:57 pm
We don’t have a release date quite yet for the UK DVD Clair, sorry. In the meantime, you can get a DVD screener (to keep) by arranging a screening here: http://goodscreenings.org/films/5/info/ If you get 10 people along and they chip in, you’ll be ahead on the deal! And you get an original DVD screener, which is cooler, rather than the standard DVD.

Britain is only second to China & RUSSIA.
I find that a tad strange. I’ve lived in Moscow for years and I’ve seen very few CCTV cameras on the streets – well compared with England anyway. Russia does have a ID card system but it’s in the form of an internal-passport and it’s not computer readable. Yes, the police do stop people but they are usually foreigners i.e. dark skinned people from the former SU.
Things ain’t as bad as you think here. If ID cards were ever introduced in Moscow it’d only be a matter of time before you could get hold of one on the black market. Money talks here
