Does anyone live on Lundy?
Lundy is included in the district of Torridge with a resident population of 28 people in 2007. These include a warden, a ranger, an island manager, a farmer, bar and house-keeping staff, and volunteers. Most live in and around the village at the south of the island.
What is Lundy famous for?
Of course Lundy is famous for its seabirds, especially for the puffins which gave the island its name (Lundy is Norse for Puffin Island). A few breeding pairs of these birds remain. There is also a wealth of other animals and plants both on the island and in the waters around.

Do monks still live on Caldey Island?
The Monks of Caldey Island Viking raids may have ended this settlement in the 10th Century. In the 12th Century Benedictines from St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire, set up a priory on the island. They remained until the Dissolution in 1536. Much of their medieval priory is still standing.
