Is AP Biology just memorization?
AP Bio is NOT memorization. In fact, if you just try to memorize terms and concepts, you’ll have a much harder time keeping track of everything you need to know. Memorizing as a strategy is not ideal for any AP exam because it is way harder to answer the essays.

What is AP Bio all about?
According to the College Board’s Course Description, AP Bio has shifted its focus from the content-heavy, memorization-based curriculum that defined the course and exam in the past to become a more concept-driven test. The goal is for students to gain a deeper conceptual understanding of topics in biology.
What are the pros and cons of AP Bio?
The good is that you won’t necessarily have to memorize as many little tidbits of information; the bad is that it can be harder to study for a test like this that covers more abstract forms of knowledge.
