What are standard hinge sizes?
Most residential hingesfor your interior doors will come in one of the following sizes and have an arch hole pattern:
- 3.5 inch x 3.5 inch with 5/8″ inch radius corner.
- 3.5 inch x 3.5 inch with 1/4″ inch radius corner.
- 3.5 inch x 3.5 inch Square Corner.
What is the difference between 1/4 and 5/8 Radius hinge?
a 1/4″ radius matches up to the radius of a US dime. 5/8″ Radius Hinge: a 5/8″ radius matches up to a US quarter. To determine if you have a 1/4″ or 5/8″ radius hinge, measure from the beginning of the curve to where the corner of the hinge would be if it were a square corner.
What sizes do door hinges come in?

Can you replace door hinges without removing the door?
The easiest way to install new door hinges is to leave the door in place throughout the process. There’s no need to remove the door if you replace hinges one at a time. First, you’ll need to remove the screws on both leaves of the existing hinge. Simply remove and replace the old hinge with the new hinge.
