What is The Circuit? The circuit takes you on a huge loop around the Portes du Soleil. It doesn’t take you through every resort, but includes Morzine, Chatel, Avoriaz and some of the Swiss resorts. The route takes in the best views of the Portes du Soleil and the quieter slopes of Switzerland.
How long to ski from Morzine to Chatel?
This route takes about six hours for a skier of moderate experience, not including time for a lunch break.
Where is the Swiss wall?
Le Pas de Chavanette, also known as the “Mur Suisse” or “Swiss Wall”, is a particularly steep and difficult piste in the Portes du Soleil ski area, on the border between France and Switzerland. It can be reached from the French resort of Avoriaz and from the Swiss towns of Les Crosets and Champéry.
Can you ski to Avoriaz from Morzine?
Is it better to stay in Morzine or to ski in Avoriaz? Yes – you can get up to Avoriaz from Morzine, either by the Super Morzine lift or from Les Prodains using the telecabine or the less busy chair lift.
Is it easy to ski from Morzine to Avoriaz?
Super Morzine It takes about 30 minutes to get to Avoriaz, via the Zore and Proclou chairlifts and an easy green run. This route means you are on the snow much quicker than you would be taking other routes. There are some great runs in Avoriaz and it boasts an impressive snow park and halfpipe.

Avoriaz is technically part of Morzine. However, it sits far higher than the main village at an altitude of 1800m. It is also located at the top of the cliffs at the far end of the Ardoisieres valley.
