What are parallam beams used for?
Parallam® PSL Beams are strong, beautiful, and can help turn open floor plans into reality. They are made using long thin strands of wood and a super strong adhesive glue to give you perfectly predictable beams and columns.

Can you cut parallam?
parallam plus® beams, headers and columns may be cut to length, but must not be resawn in depth or thickness.
What is parallam made of?
Parallam can be made from many species of wood. The majority of the wood chosen range from hemlock, pine, Douglas fir and yellow-poplar. This type of lumber has more strength than other types of wood due to knots that are found throughout the wood.

How is parallam made?
Manufactured in Delta, British Columbia and Buckhannon, West Virginia, Parallam is made primarily from Douglas fir in the west and yellow poplar/southern yellow pine in the east. Once harvested, the logs are debarked and peeled into veneers from which they are cut into strands.
