As a requirement of the student entry procedure, students may have to undertake a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.
What is LLN Test Australia?
The aim of an LLN assessment test is to confirm the language, literacy and numeracy skills of learners. The test helps to identify the learning needs of a student before they start training.
What are the LLN levels?
LLN levels are reference numbers given to a student’s performance and/or a Training Package in each of the 5 core skills; learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy. These levels have been developed by the ACSF.
Why is LLN so important?
For all learners, LLN are key underpinning skills that will support their vocational learning, the development of their employability skills and their workplace communication skills whatever level of course or training they are doing. The LLN skills of any qualification or course cannot be assumed.
How long is an LLN test?

The test will also give ALG a clear picture of your current level of language, literacy and numeracy skills so it can support you in your studies. The quiz should take you between 20 and 30 minutes to complete. You do not have to finish it in one sitting.
What happens if you fail the LLN test?
If you fail the test, you can register again and sit the next test. You’ll have 3 attempts to sit the LANTITE test.
